Omicron Coronavirus Cases and Deaths in India, COVID-19 Booster Shot Vaccine Registration Update, Third Wave of Coronavirus in India Highlights: India registered 552 new Omicron cases, bringing the total of those infections to 3,623 in 27 states and UTs so far, according to Union Health Department data updated Sunday.
Omicron Variant Cases and Deaths in India Live, Latest Covid-19 Booster Vaccine Registration Update: India reported a total of 1,59,632 new coronavirus infections reported in one day, the highest in 224 days, while active cases rose to 5,90,611, the highest in about 197 days, data shows updates on Sunday, like Omicron and Delta variant cases are increasing alarmingly across the country.
The Department of Health also reported 327 new deaths, bringing the total to 4,83,790.
There was an increase of 1,18,442 cases in the number of active COVID-19 cases within 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 10.21 percent while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 6.77 percent, according to the ministry.
The number of people who have recovered from the disease rose to 3,443,603 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.36%.

India Omicron Case
India has recorded 552 new cases of Omicron, bringing the total of those infections to 3,623 in 27 states and UTs so far, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
Of the total Omicron cases, 1,409 people have migrated or recovered.
Maharashtra recorded the maximum number of 1,009 cases, followed by Delhi at 513, Karnataka 441, Rajasthan 373, Kerala 333 and Gujarat 204.
No plan to impose lockdown on Delhi yet, says CM Arvind Kejriwal
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday there were no plans to impose the lockdown at this time and that there would be no lockdown if people wore masks.
He said that on Sunday, the city is expected to report 22,000 cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours. He called on the public to wear masks and not to panic.
âThe increase in COVID-19 cases is a matter of concern, but there is no need to panic. Very few people are hospitalized. Wearing a mask is very important. There will be no containment if you continue to wear a mask. There are no plans to impose the lockdown at this time, âKejriwal said at a virtual press conference.
The CM said that with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and the Center are closely monitoring the Covid situation. “Our attempt is to impose minimum restrictions so that livelihoods are not affected,” Kejriwal said.
